Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo's "Giggly Squad" podcast was named the Podcast of the Year at the 2026 iHeartPodcast Awards, which returned to SXSW in Austin, Texas, on Monday (March 15).
On "Giggly Squad," Berner and DeSorbo "make fun of everything, but most importantly themselves" as they discuss everything from pop culture and fashion to TV, dating and mental health. The podcast came out on top in a stacked category of other popular offerings, including "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," "The Breakfast Club," "The Mel Robbins Podcast," "Pablo Torre Finds Out," "The Daily," "The Rest Is History," "This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von," "Call Her Daddy," and "Heavyweight."
During their acceptance speech, after Berner joked that DeSorbo was initially against starting a podcast — quipping that she said she "has a face for television — the winners thanked their fans, lovingly called "the gigglers," for their support over the years as DeSorbo admitted the duo "would be nothing without them." She also thanked Berner for working with her every day even though "I don't respond to emails, it's so not my thing."
"Podcasting is our favorite time of the week and I think being ourselves and having an amazing community has enriched us so much," Berner added. "We're so happy it's 2026 and women are still allowed to have microphones."
