Hayley Williams recently announced her new tour, "The Hayley Williams Show," kicking off this September. And to celebrate, she and Brian Robert Jones stopped by iHeartRadio's ALT 98.7 in Los Angeles for an exclusive iHeartRadio LIVE conversation with Lisa Worden, including an intimate performance of two songs from her latest album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
Speaking about her newly announced tour, Williams shared her excitement for what's to come, saying, "I think it's gonna be a very different set or different energy than what we've been on, but I think the DNA is there. The band, we play really well together, and we have so much fun, and we're gonna maybe, maybe add some more folks to the lineup, and just, like, see how we can play with arrangements."
She also hinted at what fans can expect from the setlist, adding, "It'll be my first time playing the other two of my records. As well as, maybe some other songs I featured on in my career. So, I'm really psyched. It's been a long time coming."
Looking back on the Grammy recognition for Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, Williams shared how meaningful it was to see several songs honored. "I just thought it was so cool that multiple songs got nominated. I was really proud of all these songs," she said, adding, "It just meant a lot that multiple songs got recognized and I didn't have to choose my babies."
She also opened up about leaving a major label and launching her own label, Post Atlantic, saying, "It's very liberating. I didn't realize like a lot of grief came with it, which I think also coincided with writing these songs. I didn't realize what a big part of me had to die to sort of finish that out in a way I could be proud of."
As part of the exclusive iHeartRadio LIVE, Williams performed her 2025 song "Mirtazapine." Before the acoustic rendition, she introduced it as a "love letter to my antidepressant," adding, "I think people should have access to mental healthcare. It shouldn’t be a luxury."
Closing out the broadcast, Williams reflected on the power of music, saying, "I'm so thankful that music helps me get through stuff. Like, I have an outlet, you know? And I'm very thankful for the people that sing it with me at the shows."
"The Hayley Williams Show" tour kicks off September 3 in West Palm Beach, Florida, before heading to cities across the U.S., including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Charlotte, San Diego, Los Angeles, New Orleans and many more.
