The family of Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother from New York City, confirmed her death after her body was discovered near Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Thursday (August 20). Goods had been missing since Tuesday, August 8, when she left a friend's apartment near the Las Vegas Strip to go shopping at a CVS pharmacy.
Police have not yet released the cause of her death or named any persons of interest. Goods was staying with a long-time friend, Roger John, who has been ruled out as a suspect. John described Goods as "the nicest person you would meet" and aided in the search by distributing flyers in the area. Goods' family reported receiving suspicious text messages from her phone after her disappearance, requesting money and Bitcoin, which raised concerns about a potential kidnapping.
Goods' niece, Alana Calloway, expressed the family's grief, stating, "Our hearts are broken. We were notified that my aunt was found—unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be." The family is seeking privacy as they grieve and continue to search for answers. Goods' daughter, Kristin, traveled from New Jersey to Las Vegas to assist in the search efforts, checking hospitals and morgues for any sign of her mother.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the case, but detectives have not found anything suspicious yet. Goods' family remains hopeful for more information to emerge as they cope with this tragic loss. For more details, visit NY Post and Fox News.
