Team USA Triumphs Over Paraguay in World Cup Opener

Team USA kicked off their FIFA World Cup campaign with a resounding 4-1 victory over Paraguay on Friday (June 12) at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. This match marked the highest number of goals the United States has ever scored in a World Cup game.

The U.S. team, co-hosting the tournament, took an early lead with two goals from Folarin Balogun, setting the tone for the rest of the match. The Americans now sit at the top of Group D, with their next match scheduled against Australia on Friday, June 19, at Lumen Field in Seattle.

According to the Palm Beach Post, the U.S. team has a history of strong performances in group stages, last winning their group in 2010. This year, they aim to advance further in the tournament.

The match against Paraguay was held in the iconic SoFi Stadium, which opened its doors to fans at 2 p.m. for a fan experience, with kickoff at 6 p.m. SoFi Stadium is a cashless venue, accepting all major credit, debit, and mobile payments.

Elsewhere, Canada drew 1-1 with Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto, adding to the excitement of the tournament's opening matches.

With two more group-stage matches ahead, Team USA is focused on maintaining their momentum and securing a place in the knockout stages. Their final group-stage match will be against Turkey on June 25.
