A bipartisan group of lawmakers and former intelligence officer David Grusch are pushing for full government disclosure on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) at the U.S. Capitol today (Tuesday, June 9). The event aims to urge Congress to ensure that career intelligence officials do not obstruct the release of files recently declassified by President Donald Trump.

Grusch, who has previously testified under oath before Congress, will discuss evidence related to UAPs and non-human intelligence that he encountered in classified channels. He emphasizes the need for these records to be reviewed and publicly released while maintaining national security protections.

The event will feature remarks from Representatives Eric Burlison, Jared Moskowitz, Anna Paulina Luna, and Tim Burchett. They will advocate for the passage of the UAP Disclosure Act, which seeks to strengthen whistleblower protections and promote transparency. The act would require federal agencies to declassify and publish UAP-related records on their websites.

According to PR Newswire, President Trump has already initiated the declassification of documents, and more than 1 billion users have accessed these records online. The press event is hosted by investigative journalist Leslie Kean and documentary filmmaker James Fox, who both advocate for public access to these files.

Representative Burlison stated, "President Trump is the first president to take concrete steps towards transparency on UAP. The recent releases are an important start, so now it's the obligation of Congress to make sure career intelligence officials don't obstruct his directive."

The lawmakers are also calling for international cooperation in the effort to disclose UAP information. The event is expected to draw significant attention as it coincides with growing global interest in UAPs.
