Dr. Mehmet Oz took to social media platform X on Wednesday (May 20) to mock Joy Behar, co-host of The View, after she criticized the TrumpRx initiative. Behar warned that Americans would be at risk if President Donald Trump's name was associated with a new prescription drug plan.

Oz, who serves as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, responded with a quip about 'Trump derangement syndrome,' suggesting there was no cure yet available on TrumpRx.gov. He added humorously that they were working on it. The comment came after Behar expressed distrust in the program, citing Trump's past business ventures as reasons for her skepticism.

During a heated segment on The View, Behar stated, "Once Trump puts his name on prescriptions, we’re all going to die." She referenced past Trump-branded ventures like Trump Vodka and Trump University as examples of failed enterprises. However, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin countered, pointing out that the medications listed on TrumpRx are existing prescriptions, not branded by Trump.

The TrumpRx initiative, launched in February, aims to provide a central platform for patients to compare cash prices with insurance pricing for medications. It recently added over 600 generic drugs to its list. Despite criticisms from Behar and co-host Sunny Hostin, who questioned Trump's motives, the program has been defended by others for its potential to lower drug costs.
