Actor Patrick Muldoon, best known for roles on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, died at the age of 57 on Sunday (April 19) following a sudden heart attack, Deadline reports.

Muldoon's sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ that her brother spent the morning with his partner, Miriam Rothbart, at their home in Beverly Hills before he was found unconscious on the bathroom floor. The actor was pronounced dead at the scene.

A friend, who said Muldoon was known affectionately as "Bobo" by his loved ones, described him as “endlessly generous — with his poetry, his humor, and his unmistakable presence and “loved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs, and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen,” as he was further remembered for being “stylish, charismatic, and full of life, he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock ’n’ roll spirit.”

Muldoon played football at the University of Southern California, at which point he appeared in two episodes of Who's the Boss? before making a full-time transition to acting. The California native appeared in three episodes of Saved By the Bell after his graduation in 1991 before landing the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives from 1992 to 1995, which he revived from 2011 to 2012.

Mudloon also played Richard Hart on Melrose Place from Seasons 3 to 5. The actor is also credited for numerous film roles including Starship Troopers and Marlowe and worked as a producer on 16 projects including Riff Raff and The Card Counter.
