Severe weather has caused significant disruptions in air travel across the United States, with over 1,800 flights canceled as of Monday morning (March 16). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposed ground stops at major airports, including Atlanta and Charlotte, due to the massive storm system sweeping across the country. Houston faced lengthy delays, while New York's LaGuardia Airport reported 149 flight cancellations.

The storm has affected several major airlines, including Endeavor Air, Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Republic, and SkyWest. The disruptions come during the busy spring break travel season, leaving many travelers scrambling to find alternative flights.

The storm system is bringing blizzard conditions to the Midwest and a rare severe storm threat along the East Coast. The FAA has warned that additional ground stop and delay programs could be implemented later in the day at major hubs, including Chicago O’Hare, Washington-area airports, and New York’s JFK.

Travelers are advised to monitor airline alerts closely and prepare for potential schedule changes.
