Chick-fil-A has reverted its waffle fries recipe after customer backlash over a recent change. The fast-food chain had added pea starch to the fries in late 2024, aiming to keep them crispier for longer. However, the addition proved unpopular among diners, prompting the company to remove it.

The change comes after numerous complaints about the taste and texture of the fries. Customers took to social media to voice their displeasure, with some saying the fries were bland and lacked the original flavor. One Fox News report highlighted a customer's comment: "I'm gonna miss that pea starch. Said no one."

The decision to revert the recipe was met with relief from many customers, especially those with food allergies. Pea starch, while not a major allergen, posed concerns for some diners. One parent expressed gratitude on social media, saying, "Thanks, Chick-fil-A, for taking pea starch out of your fries. My son with food allergies can eat them again!" according to a report by the New York Post.

Chick-fil-A's decision to revert the recipe underscores the company's attentiveness to customer feedback. The original waffle fries, introduced in 1985, are once again available without pea starch, restoring their classic taste and texture.
