Bahama Breeze, the popular chain restaurant specializing in Caribbean inspired food, drinks and atmosphere, will be closing or converting all remaining locations after 30 years of operation.
Darden Restaurants Inc., parent company of the Caribbean chain, as well as Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse and seven others, confirmed it will close 14 of the 28 remaining Bahama Breeze locations by April 5, 2026, and convert the remaining 14 over the next 12-18 months, in a statement shared in a news release.
"Darden Restaurants, Inc. today announced that it has completed its exploration of strategic alternatives for Bahama Breeze," the company said. "Previously, the company announced that the Bahama Breeze brand, and its 28 locations, were no longer a strategic priority and that it would consider strategic alternatives, including a potential sale of the brand or converting restaurants to other Darden brands.
"The company has now determined that it will permanently close 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants and plans to convert the remaining 14 locations into another Darden brand. The company does not expect these actions to have a material impact on its financial results."
Fourteen of Bahama Breeze's remaining 28 locations are in Florida, while other states include Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington.
