Police in Greensboro, North Carolina, are renewing their appeal for public assistance in the case of Marissa Carmichael, a 24-year-old mother of five who disappeared two years ago, ABC News reported. Carmichael was last seen on January 14, 2024, at an Exxon gas station on East Market Street after making a distressed 911 call. During the call, she expressed concern about being stranded without a ride home after a man drove off with her phone. By the time officers arrived, she was no longer at the scene.

Surveillance footage captured Carmichael getting into a vehicle and leaving the gas station, but the video has not been released due to the ongoing investigation. The driver of the vehicle has been identified and interviewed as a witness, but no suspects have been named, and police have not confirmed if foul play is suspected.

Carmichael's family last saw her the day before her disappearance. She reportedly went to a nightclub, attended an afterparty at an Airbnb, and was later dropped off at the gas station. Her phone has been turned off, and her social media accounts have been inactive since that morning, which is out of character for her, according to her family.

Her mother, Sara Carmichael, shared the family's distress, saying, "Every day I wake up wondering if this is the day I’ll get answers." The Greensboro Police Department has entered Marissa Carmichael's information into national missing persons databases and continues to urge anyone with information to contact them or call Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers anonymously at 336-373-1000.
