Walgreens has recalled 41,328 bottles of its Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol due to potential contamination with the bacterium Pseudomonas lactis, a microorganism commonly associated with raw milk products. The recall, classified as Class II by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), indicates that the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems.

The affected nasal spray, distributed nationwide, comes in 1.5 oz bottles and involves lot numbers 71409 and 71861, with expiration dates of February 28, 2027, and August 31, 2027, respectively. The recall was initiated by Medical Products Laboratories, Inc. on November 12, 2025, and is ongoing.

The FDA advises consumers to stop using the nasal spray immediately and either discard it or return it to the place of purchase. While the risk of serious health consequences is considered remote, there is a possibility of temporary or reversible effects.

For those who have purchased the affected nasal spray, it is recommended to follow the FDA's guidance and discontinue use to avoid any potential health risks.
