The son of Mango fashion tycoon Isak Andic is reportedly being probed as a potential suspect in his December 2024 death, the New York Post reports.

Jonathan Andic is now officially being investigated for possible homicide, despite police initially indicating that his father accidentally plunged from a cliff near Barcelona while hiking with his family. Jonathan was named as a potential suspect in September after giving contradictory statements as a witness, the Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia reported via the New York Post.

Authorities have reportedly been searching through Jonathan's phone for possible evidence in relation to his father's death. Sources with knowledge of the situation told the Spanish media outlet El Pais that investigators have found a "series of clues" that swayed them from thinking Isak's death was a "mere accident."

The Andic family issued a statement in support of Jonathan, claiming they were confident he had no role in his father's death.

“The Andic family has not and will not comment on Isak Andic’s death in all these months,” the statement said via the New York Post. “However, they wish to show their respect for the ongoing investigations and will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities, as they have done so far. They are also confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic’s innocence will be proved.”

Isak Andic, who founded Mango in 1984 and had an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion, died after falling more than 328 feet from a cliff near the Montserrat caves near Barcelona last December. Jonathan Andic was appointed vice president of Mango's board and president of its holding company, MNG, following his father's death, while his sisters, Judith and Sarah, were named vice presidents of MNG.
