Guest Dies While Riding Popular Roller Coaster In Florida Theme Park

A visitor at Universal's Epic Universe theme park in Orlando, Florida, died after becoming unresponsive during a ride on the Stardust Racers roller coaster on Wednesday night (September 17). According to Universal Orlando Resorts and the Orange County Fire Rescue Department, the adult male guest, in his 30s, was found unresponsive while on the ride. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Stardust Racers, located in the Celestial Park section of Epic Universe, is a dual-launch racing coaster that reaches speeds of up to 62 mph and includes several upside-down elements. The ride spans 5,000 feet of track and features multiple launches and a section known as the "Celestial Spin."

Following the incident, the ride was closed, and Universal Orlando has not yet announced when it will reopen. In a statement, Universal Orlando expressed their devastation and extended condolences to the guest's family, stating, "We are fully committed to cooperating with this ongoing investigation."

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
