The Great Blubber Blast of 1970

It was 50 years ago, on December 12 1970, that authorities in Florence, Oregon had a predicament. A whale carcass had washed-up on the beach, and they had no means of removing it. The solution--blow it up. The result--was a rain storm of while blubber.
